IQAC–PSAC Follow-up Discussion Meeting on Updated OBE Features of the IIUC Teachers’ Portal and Course-File Preparation
A follow-up discussion meeting organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) with the Program Self-Assessment Committees (PSACs) was held on Tuesday, 06 October 2026, at 11:15 AM at the Computer Lab of CSE Main Building (Room: C401) to further familiarize PSAC Chairs and members with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) features available in the IIUC Teachers’ Portal and their application in Course-File preparation. // The session focused on demonstrating additional OBE features developed to simplify and facilitate the preparation of Course-Files. Dr. Yasir Arafat, Additional Director of IQAC, demonstrated the available features and explained in detail how faculty members can utilize the portal to organize and prepare different components of a Course-File more efficiently and systematically. The discussion covered the overall process of complete Course-File preparation using the portal. // The session also provided an opportunity for PSAC members to share their observations, suggestions, and feedback regarding the features developed in the portal. Their feedback was noted for consideration in the ongoing process of improving the system and enhancing its usability. // To facilitate hands-on practice, all participants were requested to bring essential course-related materials, including the course outline, detailed marks distribution for class tests (CTs), Midterm and Semester-End Examinations (SEE), and the corresponding Midterm and SEE question papers. As part of the hands-on session, PSAC Chairs and members logged in to their respective personal panels of the Teachers’ Portal and explored the available features. They were encouraged to try the functionalities directly and clarify any difficulties encountered during the process. Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam and Dr. Yasir Arafat, Additional Directors of IQAC, responded to their queries and provided necessary explanations and guidance to support their understanding of the system.
Training Session on Administrative Support for OBE Features of the IIUC Portal Held for Administrative Officials
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) organized a training session on Administrative Support for OBE Features of the IIUC Portal for administrative officials on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, at 2:40 PM in the Administrative Building Conference Room. The session was conducted by Dr. Yasir Arafat (Additional Director, IQAC), Engr. Mohammad Jalal Uddin (Director in-charge, ITD), and Md Yusuf Khalil (Senior Assistant System Analyst, ITD) with the objective of strengthening administrative support for Outcome-Based Education (OBE) documentation and facilitating the preparation of course files by faculty members. // The training focused on the systematic entry and management of OBE-related academic information in the portal. The initiative is intended to minimize repetitive data-entry work for faculty members, particularly when multiple faculty members teach the same course, and to make the preparation of course files and OBE-related assessment documentation more efficient and consistent. By providing centralized administrative support for common OBE data, faculty members can focus more effectively on course delivery, assessment, and academic responsibilities. // The session concluded with instructions for administrative officials to ensure the accurate and timely entry of OBE-related information into the portal. The training was attended by administrative officials representing the departments, with active participation throughout the session.
IQAC–PSAC Discussion Meeting on OBE Features of the IIUC Teachers’ Portal and Course-File Preparation
A discussion meeting organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) with the Program Self-Assessment Committees (PSACs) was successfully held on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at 2:40 PM at the IIUC Seminar Hall. // The meeting focused on strengthening academic quality assurance practices and familiarizing the PSAC Chairs and members with the developing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) features in the IIUC Teachers’ Portal. // During the session, the IQAC Additional Directors Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam and Dr. Yasir Arafat presented the completion status of checklists for various academic records of previous semester submitted by the PSAC Chairs. The participants were also introduced to the OBE-related features that have already been developed in the portal and were guided on how these features can be utilized for preparing Course-File items. // Key discussions included the required academic inputs for Course-File preparation, particularly CLO–PLO mapping based on the approved curriculum. The session also covered the process of entering Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), Bloom’s Taxonomy levels, and marks distribution aligned with Midterm and Semester-End Examination (SEE) questions through the portal. // As part of the ongoing quality enhancement initiatives, the meeting also emphasized the role of the PSACs in supporting and training faculty members within their respective departments to effectively use the available OBE features and prepare Course-Files.
Discussion Meeting of IQAC with Deans and Chairmen
A discussion meeting convened by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) with the respected Deans of Faculties and Chairmen of Departments was successfully held on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, at 2:40 PM in the Conference Room of the Central Library. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, Director of IQAC. The session featured presentations by the Additional Directors of IQAC, Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam and Dr. Yasir Arafat, on the findings of the quality assurance visits conducted to review the course files and other academic records of all departments for Autumn 2025. The common findings identified during these visits were presented and discussed with a view to ensuring greater consistency and compliance in maintaining academic records across the departments. Additionally, Engr. Md. Jalal Uddin, Director of the IT Division, delivered a presentation on the recently developed OBE features integrated into the existing Teachers’ Panel. The new features are designed to facilitate various Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-related tasks at the departmental level. Furthermore, valuable feedback and views on the Vision and Mission of IIUC were gathered from the participating Deans and Chairmen. Furthermore, detailed discussions were held on strengthening the Faculty Quality Assurance Cells (FQACs) at the faculty level. Emphasis was placed on enabling the FQACs to coordinate and maintain records of all Self-Assessment (SA) activities within their respective faculties, including the systematic documentation of program-level SA activities.
3-Day Comprehensive Training Series for BAC Accreditation
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), successfully organized a 3-Day Comprehensive Training Series on BAC Accreditation from 1–3 August 2026. The training was designed to strengthen institutional capacity for quality assurance and prepare the Program Offering Entities (PoEs) for accreditation by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC). The three-day training featured distinguished resource persons from the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) and leading universities. On the first day, Prof. Dr. S. M. Kabir, Former Council Member, BAC, conducted sessions on BAC Accreditation Rules and External Quality Assessment (EQA) Guidelines, while Prof. Mohammad Tazib Uddin, Director (QA & NQF), BAC, delivered sessions on Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) Adaptation in Curriculum and BAC Standards and Criteria. On the second day, Prof. Dr. Imran Mahmud, Head, Department of Software Engineering, Daffodil International University, conducted sessions on BAC Survey Preparation, Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Writing, and the Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Research and Accreditation. The final day's sessions were facilitated by Prof. Dr. M. Sayadur Rahaman, Director, IQAC, Comilla University, who delivered training on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Design and Mapping and Bloom's Taxonomy and Learning Objectives. The inaugural and second-day sessions were graced by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Azadi, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, as the Chief Guest, while the concluding session was graced by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hasmat Ali, Hon'ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor, as the Chief Guest. All sessions were presided over by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, Director, IQAC, and anchored by Dr. Yasir Arafat, Additional Director, IQAC. The training was attended by the Deans, Department Chairmen, members of the Programme Self-Assessment Committees (PSAC), and representatives from the Departmental Curriculum Committees, who actively participated in the interactive sessions. Among others, Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam, Additional Director (QA), IQAC, and representatives from the IT Division (ITD) were also present.
IQAC Compliance Visit 2026 – At a Glance
As part of its continuous quality improvement initiatives, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) is conducting department-wise compliance visits for the Autumn 2025 semester. This inspection activity, which began on July 19, 2026, will continue until August 04, 2026, covering all departments of the university. The primary objective of this visit is to review the implementation of quality assurance practices and verify proper documentation of academic activities. The IQAC team is regularly inspecting necessary documents, including course file reports, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) analysis, Course Learning Outcome and Program Learning Outcome (CLO-PLO) assessments, examination committee files, advising files, peer teaching observations, measures taken for students with a CGPA below 2.5, Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) updates, and student answer scripts. Each department is supporting this visit through the active participation of its Chairman, Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC) members, and course teachers. Led by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, the inspection team also includes IQAC Additional Director (QA) Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam and Additional Director (ETL) Dr. Yasir Arafat. During the visits, the team reviews the accuracy of documents, the completeness of course files, and overall compliance with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) standards. Following the inspection, a detailed report containing findings, areas for improvement, and specific recommendations for future implementation is provided to each department. These inspections reaffirm the commitment of IIUC to academic excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning processes. The 2026 compliance visits strengthen the university's quality culture while ensuring accountability and consistency in academic practices, aligning with quality assurance frameworks.
IIUC Holds Discussion Meeting on Academic Quality Enhancement and BAC Accreditation
Chittagong, 10 June, 2026: The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) organized a discussion meeting of the Program Self-Assessment Committees (PSAC) at the university’s Conference Room. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, Director of IQAC-IIUC, and attended by the Additional Directors, Dr. Mohammad Manjurul Alam and Dr. Yasir Arafat, departmental PSAC Chairs, and members representing all academic departments. The meeting focused on quality assurance and accreditation-related issues to strengthen academic standards and prepare for accreditation by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC). Among the key agenda items discussed were course file review activities, review of sample course file items, faculty training on course file preparation, allocation of reserved time slots for IQAC activities, preparation for BAC accreditation, collection and preservation of accreditation-related data, completion of the peer-review process, budgetary provisions for quality assurance activities, and preparation of the Intent to Apply for the Departments of Civil Engineering (CE) and Arabic Language and Literature (ALL). The participants exchanged views on these important matters and expressed their commitment to supporting the university’s continuous quality enhancement initiatives. The meeting concluded with a shared determination to work collaboratively toward achieving institutional excellence and accreditation goals.
IIUC-IQAC Holds Workshop for PSAC Members on BAC Accreditation process and Course File Preparation
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) organized a workshop for the Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC) members on 25 April, 2026 at 11:00 am in Computer Lab-1 (Room C101) of the CSE building. The session was presided over by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, Director of IQAC. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan discussed the roles and responsibilities of PSAC members in detail through a comprehensive slide presentation. The resource person of the workshop, Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam, Additional Director (QA) of IQAC, presented on the BAC accreditation process, and the preparation of course files in accordance with UGC guidelines, providing hands-on training on Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) assessment to the participants. The program was moderated by Dr. Yasir Arafat, Additional Director (ETL) of IQAC. IQAC-IIUC Holds Coordination Meeting with Deans and Departmental Chairmen
A meeting of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) with the Deans of Faculties and Chairmen of the Departments was held 20th April, 2026, Monday, at 10:00 am at the IIUC Conference Room. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, Director of IQAC. The discussion focused on several important academic matters, including updating the list of PSAC members, forming departmental subcommittees for BAC accreditation, and creating a committee to implement software solutions for OBE-related documentation. The meeting also addressed the roles of Deans and Chairmen according to the BAC manual, the submission of course files following UGC guidelines, and the distribution of accreditation materials. A key decision was made to prepare all departments for submitting their BAC accreditation applications by the end of 2026. The Deans of all faculties and Chairmen of all departments attended the meeting. Also present were Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam, Additional Director (QA), and Dr. Yasir Arafat, Additional Director (ETL) of IQAC. The session ended with a vote of thanks from the Chair.

বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কাউন্সিল (বিএসি)-এর উদ্যোগে চট্টগ্রাম ভেটেরিনারি ও এনিম্যাল সাইন্সেস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়-এ ১২ দিনব্যাপী কমপ্রিহেনসিভ ট্রেনিং ফর ইউনিভার্সিটি ফ্যাকাল্টিস শীর্ষক প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্স ৩১ মার্চ, ২০২৬ খ্রিষ্টাব্দ তারিখে শুরু হয়। দেশের উচ্চশিক্ষার গুণগতমান নিশ্চিতকরণ এবং বাংলাদেশ ন্যাশনাল কোয়ালিফিকেশনস ফ্রেমওয়ার্ক (বিএনকিউএফ) বাস্তবায়নে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষকবৃন্দের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কাউন্সিল এবং হায়ার এজুকেশন এক্সিলারেশন এন্ড ট্রান্সফরমেশন প্রজেক্ট (হিট) -এর মধ্যে স্বাক্ষরিত সমঝোতা স্মারকের আলোকে এ প্রশিক্ষণের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কাউন্সিল (বিএসি) এই প্রথমবারের মতো ঢাকার বাইরে এ ধরনের প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সের আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে প্রশিক্ষণকে অংশীজনের নিকট নিয়ে যাওয়ার একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছে। এর ফলে আঞ্চলিক পর্যায়ে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষকবৃন্দের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির সুযোগ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে, যা তাদেরকে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন প্রক্রিয়া, বাংলাদেশ ন্যাশনাল কোয়ালিফিকেশনস ফ্রেমওয়ার্ক এবং মানসম্মত শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা সম্পর্কে আরও দক্ষ ও সচেতন করে তুলবে। বিশেষ করে স্থানীয় পর্যায়ে এ ধরনের প্রশিক্ষণের আয়োজন শিক্ষকদের মাঝে মান নিশ্চিতকরণ ও গুণগত শিক্ষা বিষয়ে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধিতে কার্যকর ভূমিকা রাখবে। পাশাপাশি যারা বিভিন্ন সীমাবদ্ধতার কারণে ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠিত প্রশিক্ষণে অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারেন না, তাদের জন্য এটি একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সুযোগ হিসেবে কাজ করছে। এ উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে ভবিষ্যতে আরও দক্ষ একাডেমিক অডিটর ও রিসোর্স পারসন তৈরির পথ সুগম হবে, শিক্ষকগণের মধ্যে একটি কোয়ালিটি মাইন্ড তৈরি করবে এবং বিএসি’র কার্যক্রমে গতি সঞ্চারিত হবে। - চট্টগ্রাম ভেটেরিনারি ও এনিম্যাল সাইন্সেস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়-এ আয়োজিত এ প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সে চট্টগ্রাম অঞ্চলের ১৪টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ৩০ জন শিক্ষক অংশগ্রহণ করছেন। প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কাউন্সিলের সচিব প্রফেসর এ.কে.এম. মুনিরুল ইসলাম এবং সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থেকে অনুষ্ঠানের শুভ উদ্বোধন করেন চট্টগ্রাম ভেটেরিনারি ও এনিম্যাল সাইন্সেস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়-এর উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ লুৎফুর রহমান। অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনায় স্বাগত বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন কোর্স পরিচালক এবং বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কাউন্সিলের কিউ এন্ড এনকিউএফ বিভাগের পরিচালক প্রফেসর মোহাম্মদ তাজিব উদ্দিন। অনুষ্ঠান সঞ্চালনা করেন বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কাউন্সিলের কিউ এন্ড এনকিউএফ বিভাগের উপপরিচালক জনাব প্রবীর কুমার চক্রবর্ত্তী। - উক্ত প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সে আন্তর্জাতিক ইসলামী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় চট্টগ্রাম (আইআইইউসি)-এর প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে অংশগ্রহণ করছেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইন্সটিটিউশনাল কোয়ালিটি এসিউরেন্স সেল -এর পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ আকতারুজ্জামান খান এবং অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক ড. মোহাম্মদ মনজুর আলম। - বক্তাগণ উচ্চশিক্ষার গুণগত মানোন্নয়ন, অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন প্রক্রিয়ার জন্য প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি এবং আন্তর্জাতিক মানের সাথে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তুলতে এ ধরনের প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচির গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন।
IQAC Organizes Workshop on 2nd Round HEAT-ATF Project Preparation
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) successfully organized a day-long workshop on 2nd Round HEAT-ATF Project Preparation, yesterday, February 16, 2026. The event was graced by the distinguished resource person Prof. Dr. M. Zakir Saadullah Khan from the Department of Economics, Comilla University, whose vast academic background and over 80 research publications provided invaluable insights to the participants. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, Director of IQAC, and saw the active participation of 40 faculty members divided into 11 teams. Throughout four intensive technical sessions, the teams focused on strategic context, technical proposal writing, mastering critical annexes like Log Frame and EMP, and navigating finance and procurement strategies. The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session and the presentation of a memento of appreciation to the resource person, marking a significant step forward in enhancing the university's research and project design capabilities.
IIUC Faculty Members Participate in UGC’s HEAT Project Workshop at CVASU
University Grants Commission of Bangladesh recently organized a high-level training program titled Trainers Workshop on Writing ATF Sub-Project Proposal Phase II under the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation project at the Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University campus. The session was conducted by the Honorable Project Director of the HEAT Project Prof. Dr. Asaduzzaman who provided strategic guidelines on drafting quality sub-project proposals. A 7-member delegation from the International Islamic University Chittagong led by IQAC Director Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan participated in this important workshop. Other team members included Prof. Dr. Md. Shamimul Haque Choudhury, Dr. Nazim Ullah, Dr. Mohammad Manjur Alam, Mr. Mohammad Nazmul Islam, Mr. Yeakub Ali, and Mr. Tanveer Ahsan. The participation of this team is expected to significantly enhance the research infrastructure and funding opportunities for IIUC by aligning with national higher education standard.
